The Jewish Federation of Reading has scheduled the following programs:
A screening of the movie “12 Hours in October” will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Reading.
“12 Hours in October” is a powerful film based on real events, portraying the terror, chaos, and human impact of the Oct. 7 attack through the perspectives of several fictional characters. Following the screening, join a live Q&A with executive producer Perry Hiiman on the meaning behind the film and the importance of preserving this story.

The 20th annual Richard J. Yashek Memorial Lecture will be held on March 25 at 7 p.m. at Albright College’s, McMillan Center, South Lounge.
Focusing on art and resistance in Nazi occupied France, Christopher C. Gorham will present “Matisse at War.”
Music
The Reading Symphony Orchestra will present Mozart and Haydn “The Clock” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Santander Performing Arts Center, 136 N. Sixth St., Reading.
Step into the golden age of classical music with a sparkling program of Mozart and Haydn at their most dazzling conducted by Andrew Constantine.
Mozart’s radiant Symphony No. 29 and lyrical Horn Concerto No. 3, featuring Megan Amos on French horn, meet the wit and charm of Haydn’s beloved “Clock” Symphony.
There also will be a special performance with the Reading Symphony Orchestra Junior Strings.

In conjunction with the concert, Reading Symphony Orchestra League and The Highlands at Wyomissing will be presenting an educational program on the music of Mozart/Haydn on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at The Highlands, 2000 Cambridge Ave, Wyomissing. Dr Johannes Dietrich, professor of music at Lebanon Valley College, will highlight key themes in the music, providing insight into the composers’ lives and times in order to deepen the listening for audiences
Fundraiser
Reading Civic Theatre will be holding Bingo With the Nuns on March 21 at their venue at 4350 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township. Proceeds will benefit the April production of “Sister Act.”
Tickets are $30 and must be purchased online. No tickets will be sold at the door. Go to readingcivic.org or contact Sue Stankiewicz at 484-332-2845 for questions. Doors will open at noon with games starting at 1.
Bingo will include 20 games and additional specials. You must be at least 21 to play. Prizes will range from designer bags to baskets of cheer to other fun and unique baskets.
Only cash will be accepted at the event for food and specials. This event is limited to 100 tickets.
Women’s History Month
In honor of Women’s History Month, Kutztown University is presenting a series of special events designed to foster connection while honoring, celebrating and uplifting women. Through art, performance, history and educational programming, these events will amplify the voices, experiences and contributions of women.
The Women’s Center at Kutztown University is spearheading the coordination of these events, offering the campus community a meaningful opportunity to engage with the themes of Women’s History Month. These initiatives aim to bring joy and recognize the valuable contributions or women, alongside historical and current struggles for gender equity.
Spotlight events:
• Women’s History Month Keynote: Molly Jong-Fast, Monday, 6 p.m., 218 McFarland Student Union: Molly Jong-Fast is a bestselling author, political commentator and cultural critic known for her sharp wit, fierce honesty and commitment to truth telling. She will provide a keynote address on the political landscape for women with a Q&A and host a book signing. Her memoir, “How to Lose Your Mother,” will be available for sale.
• Third annual Phenomenal Women’s Awards Reception, March 26, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., 218 MSU: This annual celebration has it all: student performances, a juried art showcase, the traveling Women of Color Museum Exhibit, “A Tribute to the Contributions of African American Women,” and the Phenomenal Women Awards, which honor the KU women that the campus community nominates Nominate up to three KU women on Engage. KU will partner with Dr. Leslie Sotomayor and Rubi Rodriguez for this annual event and Juried Art Exhibit. A juried art exhibit is an exclusive opportunity for artists to present their best work, as all submissions will be carefully evaluated and selected by a panel of jurors. Selected works will be on display at the Phenomenal Women Awards Reception. Student artists are invited to submit artwork on Engage.
