State Rep. Donna Scheuren, R147th Dist., has announced she is running for re-election to a third two-year term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Scheuren has lived in the district for more than 25 years, where she and her husband built a successful local business and served neighbors as volunteers and elected leaders. Long before her election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Scheuren served on school boards, the local hospital board, and organizations “where she focused on strengthening schools, supporting families, and giving taxpayers a voice in decisions that affect their daily lives,” according to a press release from her campaign.
“This district isn’t just where I serve, it’s where I live, where I put down roots, and where I’ve spent decades working alongside neighbors to make our towns stronger,” Scheuren said in the press release. “I’m running for re-election because the people deserve a representative who truly knows this community, understands its values, and is committed to protecting the quality of life we share.”
Since taking office, Scheuren has secured more than $38 million in state funding for roads, bridges, schools, parks, fire companies, EMS services, and municipal improvement projects across the district. That includes $4 million in open space and farmland preservation grants, protecting more than 810 acres of land, as well as $2.8 million in funding for emergency services, ensuring first responders have the resources they need to keep families safe.
In the legislature, Scheuren has been a consistent advocate for public safety, responsible budgeting, and economic growth. She has fought for increased education funding without raising broad-based taxes, expanded career and technical education opportunities, supported school safety initiatives, and worked to preserve Pennsylvania’s strong fiscal position, all while remaining accessible and responsive to constituents navigating state services, according to her press release.
Scheuren’s reelection bid has earned the endorsement of U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick, who praised her leadership and connection to the district.
“I’ve seen firsthand the results Donna Scheuren delivers for her constituents,” McCormick said. “Her passion for serving the 147th District is genuine, and it shows in the work she does every day for her community. Donna understands the issues, stays closely connected to the people she represents, and gets results. I’m proud to endorse her for re-election and look forward to campaigning alongside her to keep delivering for Pennsylvania families.”
As she campaigns for another term, Scheuren says her priorities remain unchanged: protecting taxpayers, backing first responders, preserving open space, strengthening schools, and ensuring state government works for the people it serves.
“This district deserves leadership that’s earned through years of service and trust,” Scheuren added. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m ready to keep delivering for the community that has given me so much.”
The 147th District includes the communities of Upper and Lower Salford, Upper and Lower Frederick, New Hanover, Upper Pottsgrove, Douglass, and parts of Franconia.
The salary for the seat is $110,015 per year.
The only other candidate in the race is Democrat Margaret Burke, who announced in January that she would seek the Democratic Party nomination.
