The Fulton Forward Foundation has awarded $480,000 in grants to 24 nonprofit and community organizations across its geographic footprint of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. The independent, nonprofit private foundation is funded by Fulton Bank, which is headquartered in Lancaster.
The annual investments are designed to promote economic development, expand access to financial resources, and enhance community resilience throughout the region, according to a press release announcing the awards.
Among the recipients are four organizations from the tri-county area:
• Philadelphia City Rowing (Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County) — a youth development organization that offers free comprehensive rowing programs for Philadelphia youth.
• Habitat for Humanity of Chester County Inc. (Schuylkill Township, Chester County) — an organization that builds and sells homes to qualifies families and individuals that live or work in Chester County.
• United Way of Chester County (West Whiteland Township, Chester County) — an organization that helps to mobilize resources to build stronger communities.
• Connections Work (Reading, Berks County) — a workforce development program to benefit individuals in Berks County with current or past justice system involvement.
“We’re proud to invest in initiatives that help communities thrive — especially those that equip individuals and small businesses with the tools to build financial stability and long-term success,” said William Glover, executive vice president and director of fair and responsible banking for Fulton Bank and president of the Fulton Forward Foundation, in a statement. “By working together, we’re driving inclusive growth and helping communities adapt and advance in an ever-changing economic landscape.”
The Fulton Forward Foundation awards financial impact grants each year of $20,000 or more to 501(c)(3) organizations that support Fulton Bank’s mission to promote economic empowerment and strengthen community resilience.
The latest round of grants were awarded to organizations that focus on education, workforce development, affordable housing, and financial literacy.
A total of 13 Pennsylvania organizations were recognized. In addition to the four in Berks, Chester and Montgomery counties, additional Pennsylvania recipients included:
• Beyond Literacy (Philadelphia)
• Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site (Philadelphia)
• Episcopal Community Services (ECS) (Philadelphia)
• Philadelphia Youth Network Inc. (Philadelphia)
• Tech Impact (Philadelphia)
• Philabundance (Philadelphia)
• HDC Mid Atlantic (Lancaster)
• Community Progress Council (York)
• York Habitat for Humanity (York)
Additional recipients were awarded in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia.
