An independent pharmacy is celebrating the opening of its third store location in Exeter Township.
Exeter Community Pharmacy workers cut the ribbon at 3811 Perkiomen Ave. on Sept. 19.
The pharmacy is the third branch of the Community Pharmacy brand, which opened its first Berks County location in Temple in 2020.
Another location, Sinking Spring Community Pharmacy, opened in April 2024.
The Community Pharmacy brand is independent and family-owned, and aims to help elevate the quality of life of patients by assisting them in staying on top of their medications.
It offers services including free home delivery of medications, as well as free specialized packaging of medications according to their intake schedule.
“We accept all the insurances and keep everything in stock,” pharmacist Neil Patel told MediaNews Group. “We get prescriptions ready in 5-10 minutes and there is no wait time or long lines.”
The store also offers one-on-one medication therapy management where pharmacists review patients’ health status, create a medication plan, and monitor and assess their response to treatment.
“If the patient has questions about their medication therapy, we review that and coordinate with a doctor to potentially change prescriptions,” pharmacy manager Kimberly Galbraith said.
Galbraith said working at an independent pharmacy offers a chance for more personalized care.
“The advantage I see in community pharmacies versus big box chain is (we provide) patients the care that they deserve,” Patel said. “We go out of our way to save patients money and provide clinical help.”

The store also offer immunizations, including those for flu, pneumonia, shingles and tetanus.
Home medical equipment, vitamins and supplements, and other pharmacy staples are also for sale at the store.
The Exeter location has been open since late July, and is holding a promotion through which patients who transfer their prescriptions get $25 in store credit. The promotion will run until the end of the year.
