Berks County is divided into three jurisdictions: Reading, Muhlenberg Township and the rest of the county. Reading and Muhlenberg Township have their own food safety inspectors and the rest of the county is inspected by Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture inspectors.
The results will be posted every other week. All food vendors are inspected at least once a year. Other inspections can be triggered by a change of owner, a follow up if a facility had been out of compliance or by a complaint filed with the PDA.

Plaza Azteca, 100 Anna Ave. Suite 456, Blandon Pa 19510 , Aug. 12: three violations. Food facility is using duct tape to repair the plumbing system, which is not an approved material. Pipe needs to be repaired to prevent the leaking. Assorted salsas and sauces were held at 45 °F, in the server line area, rather than 41°F or below as required. Equipment was temping at 48°F food was just replenished after the lunch rush so manager moved the items back to the walk in cooler. Corrected. Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 0 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. Container is observed empty. GM left to go to restaurant store to get more sanitizer. Dishwasher has made a chlorine bleach solution in the three bay sink for sanitizing until the GM returns.
