The Mercury’s Sound Off for Thursday, July 10

It was nice to see all the flags flying while driving down East Phila. Ave. in Boyertown over the July 4th weekend. It is a shame that the property owners along the same street do not take care of the weeds growing out of the sidewalks and curbs. It looks terrible. Hopefully, the town will nudge the owners to address this issue.

To all my Democrat friends and Democrat Sound Off pundits, I hear your screams at night, I hear your cries of despair, and I even have seen you screaming on street corners in Pottstown. Have no fear, I am enjoying it. And I am going to enjoy the next 3 years and 6 months and 10 days of it. Trump is Making America Great Again, and you can’t stand it.

Zohran Mamdani is now the official Democratic candidate for New York City mayor. Mamdani continues the Democratic trend of pretending to be a different race. Mamdani claimed to be African-American on his college application — he was born in Uganda to Indian parents, certainly not black. Like Elizabeth Warren, he is a liar.

JR: You are so out of touch with reality, it’s unbelievable. You said quote “gas prices, food prices all rising and wars raging.” Where is this happening? Also, a “big bill that will … hurt the average American? Have you even read any parts of the bill?

You cheered the biggest wealth transfer in U.S. history: $975 billion for billionaires, $560 more out of your own pockets, food stamps slashed, Medicaid gutted, and millions losing insurance. Good while it lasted. It was so nice to open the paper to page two and see real news and information instead of the constant dribble that appears in Sound Off. Same people, same useless info, day after day. What a waste of paper and ink. A lot of you need to get a new hobby.

Interesting. The GOP Senate version of the “Big, Beautiful Bill”, makes the tax cuts for the wealthy expiring this year, permanent, requiring no re-authorization. On the other hand, the “no tax” on tips, overtime, would expire in 2028, requiring re-authorization. It raises the debt ceiling limit from the House-passed $4 trillion to $5 trillion, increases Medicare cuts, ends energy credits, and reduces the hard-fought House-approved SALT cap increase. Patriot 45/47, take a look at the pictures of millions and millions of people at the “No Kings” rallies, not only in the U.S., but around the world. Then look at the empty seats at Taco’s parade, and see how stupid your comment was.

My president didn’t send pallets of cash to Iran. He sent them Operation Midnight Hammer. Big difference.

With the opening of Alligator Alcatraz in Florida, instead of saying “Adios” to the illegal alien criminals, we can say: “See you later, Alligator!”
