Like many growing families, Bachman’s family of companies needed a bigger home.
On Wednesday, the company capped off its move to new headquarters in Wyomissing, Berks County with a ribbon-cutting celebration.
The event was attended by over 100 and co-hosted by the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance and Northern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce.
“Bachman’s has been a pillar of strength and innovation in our local business community,” Jackie Stiles, GRCA vice president of business development and special programs, said at the ceremony. “It’s inspiring to see this kind of investment in growth happening right here in our backyard.”
Bachman’s started in 1972 when Tom Bachman founded a small building and remodeling business.
Today, Tom Bachman’s surname sits newly emblazoned on 20,000 square feet of office space at 935 Berkshire Blvd., underscoring just how dramatically the company has evolved over the decades.

What began as a one-crew operation has blossomed into a branch of services that span the home improvement and construction industries, and more.
The Bachman’s portfolio now includes Bachman’s Roofing, Bachman’s Construction, Bachman’s Auto Repair, Bachman’s Rentals, and BGone, which provides dumpster rental and trash removal services, and more.
“Bachman’s has become much more than a contractor,” said Drew Weidner, business development specialist at Bachman’s. “We manage a diverse portfolio of home services companies as well as a large portfolio of residential and commercial real estate. The Berkshire Boulevard location reflects that professionalism and gives our staff a large, comfortable location to work out of that is within a reasonable commute from anywhere in Berks County.”

Bachman’s was previously headquartered at 36 S. Elm St. in Wernersville.
That location will remain the headquarters for the sales and production departments of Bachman’s roofing, company officials noted, and the property in front of that one, 256 W. Penn Ave, will continue to house Bachman’s Auto Repair and Mervine’s Exhaust.
Many Bachman’s companies have separate production or sales facilities, but the Wyomissing location will serve as a corporate headquarters for the Bachman’s brand, company officials noted.
Weidner noted the property’s previous occupant, John Weidenhammer of Weidenhammer Systems Inc., has a longstanding business relationship with Bachman’s.
“We replaced the roof on this building after it was damaged by the hailstorm in 2014 and provided services to it for years before that,” Weidner noted.
The fruits of Bachman’s various professional relationships were apparent at the ribbon cutting, where guest speakers highlighted the company’s commitment to craftmanship and community.
One partnership that has engendered substantial growth for Bachman’s is its agreement with Lowe’s, which enables it to provide roofing, gutter and shingle services to customers at over 200 Lowe’s stores.
The agreement establishes Bachman’s as a single point of contact for those services at participating Lowe’s stores, while granting Bachman’s access to a steady stream of customers in additional markets, Weidner said.
Bachman’s success has allowed it to expand and invest in several complimentary businesses, including Karl L. Keath HVAC, Plumbing & Electric; DeLong Christmas Tree Farm; and Mervine’s Exhaust.
Another new venture, Bachman’s Management, founded in 2024, enables the company to provide HR services, accounting, property management and maintenance, and legal counsel to all of its companies.
Its growth has enabled Bachman’s to serve clients across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and open new offices in Pittsburgh, Allentown and Hatfield.
The company now employs over 150 workers across its brands.
For Bachman’s, the key to success comes down to vertical integration, by which the brand is equipped to handle every aspect of a customer’s project, Weidner noted.
“If a customer has a tree fall on their home due to storm damage, our mitigation department works with the customer’s insurance company to handle the claim,” Weidner said. “Associates from our construction division take the tree down, our roofing division tarps the roof and weatherproofs it while the claim in being processed, our internal draftsmen can create the plans to rebuild the structure, B-Gone Waste delivers the dumpster to handle all demolition and construction debris, our roofing and construction divisions rebuild the structure and Karl L. Keath HVAC can provide any needed plumbing, electrical or HVAC work.”

He said having that level of control enables Bachman’s to ensure the work meets the company’s high standards.
As for what’s next, Weidner said more expansion is on the horizon.
“In June Bachman’s Construction will officially open its new production facility at 2661 Leisczs Bridge Road in Leesport,” Weidner said.
