Singer Equipment Co. has acquired Joseph Flihan Co., a leading food service equipment dealer in New York state.
The announcement was made Tuesday by Fred Singer, president and CEO of Singer Equipment, a third-generation family owned and operated company headquartered in Caernarvon Township, Berks County.
Described as a strategic acquisition, the move expands Singer’s reach across New York, according to the company.
The new division will operate under the name Singer Flihan, and Joe Flihan, president of the Joseph Flihan company, will serve as president of the new division, it was announced.
In the announcement, Singer said he is looking forward to supporting the new division in its growth plans.
“Joe and his team are recognized leaders in their market with broad respect from vendors and customers, and a reputation for integrity and excellence,” he said in a statement. “With this acquisition, Singer is a more complete solution to customers and vendors in New York state with offices in Buffalo, Syracuse, Utica, New York City and Melville, Long Island.”
